Summary

Access control is a great way to securely configure which tickets and/or events can be scanned. You can create an unlimited number of access control configurations. Before configuring your access control token, you’ll want to decide which settings and permissions to apply. These include:

High-level Access permissions

  • Full – No limitations.
  • Limited – Restricts access to the ticket check-in table, check-in statistics, and total ticket count notifications.

High-level Event access

You can also choose which events a token can be used for.

  • All Events (default)
  • Selected Events (optional)

Naming convensions: We recommend using a naming convention that clearly reflects the permissions enabled for each access control. Some examples include:

Scanning - Full Access - All Events

Scanning - Full Access - [Selected Event name]

Help guide

In the example below, we create an access control token with full permissions and access to all events.

  1. Via the Account menu, navigate to the Settings module and select Access Control. From the General tab, you can add a new access control device by clicking Create under Access Control Devices.
  2. A pop-up will appear allowing you to name the access control.
  3. Under the Permissions & Roles heading, select the appropriate ticket access mode: Full or Limited.
  4. By default, Can access all events will be enabled. If you wish to restrict ticket scanning to a single event or multiple events, you can toggle this off and then select the permitted events.
  5. Check your settings, then click save
  6. Once you have created your access control, click Show token. This token must be scanned on your scanning device to enable access. The same token can be shared across multiple users or devices.
