How can I create a Group Quantity discount?
Introduction
Quantity discounts offer the possibility to utilise rule-based discounts in the checkout during ticket selection, which are automatically applied to a certain combination of tickets or prices.
- Group discount for 10+ tickets of one ticket type.
- Family discount for a combination of 2 adults and 2 children.
- Quantity discount for a shopping cart value of $200.
The advantage of ticket groups is that you can pre-group ticket types to easily and clearly apply rules without having to add each ticket type to each rule individually.
Summary
This guide assumes you have already created your event and configured your ticket types.

| Shopping Cart Rules | Once a rule is defined, it will be automatically applied to every online purchase for that event. |
Example (A) - Discount of $10.00 per ticket for group bookings of 8 full priced tickets or more.
For our test scenario we want the discount to apply as follows (see screenshot below), we set the minimum number of tickets required to 8. As we want the discount to apply to any group booking of 8 or more tickets, we entered 100 as the maximum number, as we have no upper limit.
For example, if you only wanted the discount to apply to exactly the first 8 tickets, you would set both the minimum and maximum values to 8.

Example (B) - Overall Discount of $20.00 applied as a Family Discount triggered with a minimum of 2 adults and 2 youth tickets. Additional Tickets can be added at Standard Pricing. (Standard pricing Adult $25.00, Youth $15.00 - normally $80.00)
Create a Ticket Group for each Ticket Type, then create a Quantity Discount with the Nominal Discount set to $20.00.
- Set the minimum quantity for each group to 2 tickets.
- Set the maximum quantity to the amount you will allow (for example: 10 or 100).
This ensures the discount will still apply when additional tickets are added above the minimum qualifying quantity, while any extra tickets beyond the discounted allocation will be charged at the standard ticket price without a discount.

Example (C) - Overall Discount of $20.00 applied as a Family Discount triggered with a minimum of 2 adults and 2 youth tickets. A 2nd Family Discount of $20.00 should trigger if a further 2 Adults and 2 Youth tickets are added. Additional Tickets can be added at Standard Pricing. (Standard pricing Adult $25.00, Youth $15.00 - normally $80.00)
Create a Ticket Group for each Ticket Type, then create 2 Quantity Discount rules with the Nominal Discount set to $20.00.
- Set the 1st Quantity Rule with a minimum quantity of 2 tickets for each group.
- Set the 2nd Quantity Rule with a minimum quantity of 4 tickets
- Set the maximum quantity to the amount you will allow (for example: 10 or 100).
This ensures the discount will still apply when additional tickets are added above the minimum qualifying quantity, while any extra tickets beyond the discounted allocation will be charged at the standard ticket price without a discount.
