How can I create and sell Gift Vouchers?
Introduction
Vouchers can be used to generate codes that correspond to a fixed value that can be redeemed in the checkout by ticket buyers. Vouchers are characterised by the fact that a residual value remains after use. The voucher is valid until the remaining value reaches $0.
Gift Vouchers are created/sold as Products in an event. The code is generated automatically after a ticket buyer completes the purchase. The ticket buyer receives the voucher in a PDF design. A Product does not incur a fixed ticket system fee, however the variable cart fee (if applicable) will still apply to the value of the order. Products are unlimited in volume and can not be capped, but can be inactivated at any time.
Examples of use: Offer vouchers for sale to provide gift card options, Issue a voucher for a customer who could not attend the event or Prepare vouchers for a marketing campaign.
Where can I monitor/view issued vouchers in the Dashboard: Click Discounts (via the account menu), from the sub-menu, select the Vouchers module underneath.
How can I sell Vouchers: You can sell Vouchers in two ways, you can sell products (vouchers) in events with tickets and the products (voucher) will be shown as an upsell option OR you can sell products (vouchers) in events without tickets as a standalone event (example: Gift Voucher event).
What price configurations can I offer: The price type can be fixed pricing (e.g. $10.00), pay what you want, where the buyer can enter any amount within a range you set (e.g. $0.00 - $500.00) or a combination of both.

STEP 3: Linking for Sale
This step assumes you have already created your event—either a standard event with tickets (where Gift Vouchers will appear as an upsell option) and/or a standalone Gift Voucher event (without tickets) used exclusively for selling vouchers (refer to Introduction).
Pro tip: If you’ve created a standalone Gift Voucher event, make sure to adjust the sales settings by reducing the minimum number of tickets required per order from 1 to 0. This allows customers to check out with a voucher without needing to select a ticket. You can find this setting under the Sales tab, within the General section, change to 0 and click Save.
You may also want to amend the Buy Tickets button and rename this to Buy Gift Voucher, you can find this setting under the Custom tab, Event Landing Page
- Open your event
- Click the Sales module (via the event menu)
- Via the General tab, scroll down to the Upselling section
- Toggle Sell products ON
- Select your display settings according to your preference - select Always for a standalone Gift Voucher event, you can select either for a standard ticketed event
- Select your product stream via the drop down list (example: gift vouchers)
- Optionally add a checkout header image
- Click Save
General Product Settings
Activation: Activate the product by clicking the Active toggle. Only active products can be sold
Name: The name will be displayed in the checkout for the customer. Tip: Add the value in the name so it is directly visable: example: $10.00 Gift Voucher
Description: The description is displayed in the checkout for the customer and equivalent to a ticket-type description
Product Image: An optional image tile that appears in the checkout for the customer
Product Type: For the purpose of Gift Vouchers, always select Voucher
Voucher Settings - Limited: Toggle ON to limit the time for which this voucher can be used from the date of purchase.
Voucher Design: Optional image that will appear on the voucher PDF
Voucher disclaimer: Add text which will appear on the voucher PDF, for example, you can include information about how to redeem the voucher or any terms & conditions
Price: This is the price of the voucher and also reflects the value of the voucher
Recommended retail price: If used, the recommended retail price is shown in the checkout as a crossed-out price and symbolizes a discount on the product. This is not usually necessary for vouchers, as the voucher value always matches the price
Apply taxes: Use the Apply Taxes button to decide whether the price should be displayed net or gross. Note: that if taxes are applied, they may be charged twice since taxes may be charged for the ticket when the voucher is redeemed
