Customer Account set up & general settings
Introduction
Customer Accounts are dedicated profiles in your shop that create a direct, long-term relationship between you – the organiser – and the ticket buyer. Rather than treating each purchase as a one-off transaction, a customer account connects a buyer’s identity with their full purchase history, interactions, and preferences.
Benefits for the Organiser
Customer Insights Gain a complete overview of buyer behaviour, including purchase history and interactions. This enables accurate segmentation, deeper analysis, and better measurement of marketing performance.
Data Leverage Customer Accounts are required to use Tags, improving reporting and enabling more advanced and automated workflows.
Brand & Loyalty A personalised account experience strengthens your brand and lays the foundation for increased customer loyalty and lifetime value.
Feature Enablement Customer Accounts are mandatory for many high-value features, including: Customer Payment Methods, Subscriptions, Ticket Transfers, Ticket Upgrades
Security Accounts enable secure account verification to help prevent fraud and are required for managing Season Ticket Holders.
Benefits for the Ticket Buyer
Effortless Experience All event information and purchase history are stored in one place. Saved buyer details reduce friction and make future checkouts faster and easier.
Better Self-Service Buyers have full control over their tickets, including managing transfers and updating personal details. This reduces the need to contact support and puts control directly in the customer’s hands.

Help Guide
How to Activate or Disable Customer Accounts, including Authentication options
- Click Settings > Sales > Accounts.
- In the General section there are three authentication options available.
Disabled, No customer account is needed and customers do not need to sign in to purchase tickets. They can instead use the guest checkout.
Prevent Checkout, The customer must have an account and be signed in to open the checkout. Guest users can see events and event descriptions, but cannot see ticket categories and types, availability, or prices.
Prevent Details Submit, The customer can add items to their order as a guest, however they must sign in first to enter their address and payment info and finalise the order.
The authentication settings can be overridden on an event level by navigating to Events > select Event > Sales > General > Authentication.
Attention: If Multi-Event Checkout is enabled in your shop, the authentication settings can only be set on a seller level and not be configured differently per event.
